Now we advance to 4 string chords. The low bass string will now give your chords extra weight.
Play along to the chord exercises below. Try to stay in time with the track as best you can. Your target is to be able to play along to all the tracks until they reach 2:40. These exercises will have you playing your songs much more quickly than just song practice.
While practising G to C watch your 2nd finger going to C.
While practising D to C watch your 2nd finger going to C and then your 3rd finger going to D.
While practising D to Em watch your 2nd finger going to Eminor and then your 3rd finger going to D.
While practising D to Am watch your 2nd finger going to Aminor and then your 3rd finger going to D.
NOTES ON THE GUITAR
We now add the E minor scale. Notice again the minor scale has a dark or sad sound. Before you play to the track, practise playing up and down the scale like it’s written in the notation below.
Dan taught my 2 kids guitar for a number of years , he has an amazing teaching technique, a lot of patience, and most... importantly he took an interest in my kids music interests and devised the lessons around songs that they wanted to learn which kept them motivated to practice and learn the guitar. I would highly recommend Dan.read more
Dan is a great teacher. He gave clear, easy to follow instructions. He made learning the guitar very enjoyable. He was... very accommodating, offering lessons in person and via Skype. For anyone short on time this is a great option.
