Now we advance to 4 string chords. The low bass string will now give your chords extra weight.
Play along to the chord exercises below. Try to stay in time with the track as best you can. Your target is to eventually be able to play along to all the tracks until they reach the end (bar 40). These exercises will have you playing your songs much more quickly than just song practice.

NEW SCALE We now add the E minor scale. Notice again the minor scale has a dark or sad sound. Before you play to the track, practise playing up and down the scale like it’s written in the notation below.
Play along to this track in E minor. Try adding slides, hammer ons, pull offs and most importantly phrasing.
Once comfortable improvising with the scale, play the E minor scale over Ride On following the chords.
